Visit at Okayama University by Dr. M. Modreanu from UCC/Tyndall Institute in Cork – IRELAND – From Monday 22nd to Saturday 27th January 2018

University College Cork and Tyndall Institute have been prominent partners of Okayama University from 2014.

In addition to many delegation missions on both sites, several major research related achievements resulted from the collaboration. For instance among the most recent ones:

  • The joint Organisation of an International Conference at Okayama in November 2017, celebrating the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Japan and Ireland.
  • The success of 2 Okayama University researchers at the ASCENT infrastructure program (April 2017). The first in Japan ever.

Several other joint international projects are now in preparation including:

  • The organisation of OPTO-X-2019 at Okayama – This will be a second edition of the 2017 Conference – This time more than 300 participants will be expected including at least 35% frrom Europe and North America.
  • New ASCENT applications
  • Joint European project proposals.

During his visit of Okayama University, Dr. Modreanu will have several meetings with scientists, will give seminar (Wednesday 24th — Shikata campus) titled:
Raman Imaging at Nanoscale” and participate in a project meeting (Thursday 25th — Tsushima campus) titled: “Development of advanced nanomaterials for trace chemistry / biomolecular dynamics analysis using Raman spectroscopy“.
