In Nov-2017 Okayama University and Tyndall Institute (Cork-Ireland) organised a first Edition. As the event met great success a second Edition was planned. From 2019 the conference will held every second year.

The December 2019 edition is co-organised by Tyndall Institute, RIKEN-Spring-8 and Okayama University. About 60 invited speakers from around the globe (40% from North America and Europe) are expected and many of them have already confirmed their participation.

A specific “Networking” session will be proposed to encourage International connections in many directions. In the Networking session:

• MINATEC – Grenoble  – France
• EU delegation to Japan representatives (ERASMUS programs and Horizon-Europe) – Tokyo
• JST and JSPS
• CNRS – Tokyo

Other representatives of local and national major institutions to promote research and connected activities are expected.
