Between Univ. Grenoble Alpes* and Okayama University exchanges are already active: several Okayama University delegations to Grenoble have already been made in a recent past. Furthermore, many students are now scheduled to join scientific research teams at Okayama University: in 2017, 12 Master students from Univ. Grenoble Alpes will be at Okayama University for 3-6 months research periods from February. This student mobility is greatly facilitated by a University level framework agreement signed in 2015.

Visits of Univ. Grenoble Alpes by Okayama U. researchers are numerous and several joint research projects are underway. As exposing students from the youngest age to International Science and Cultures is of prime importance at Okayama University, a group of high-school students from Okayama have been in Internet mediated contacts with CSI students in Grenoble from October 2016. They visited their counterparts for a 10 day trip in France from March 15th. This study visit is a part of a “Globalising” program (GSCO: http://www.science.okayama-u.ac.jp/sakidori) aiming at initiating high-school students to International research and culture. Such a program, offering in particular thorough exchanges with European counterparts in Grenoble and Poitiers, practicals at top research centres in the world (ESRF for instance), and visits to top flight research centres, is probably unique world-wide.
